Last week we had an artist in our room to help with learning about art and color. She also had us make field journals. They are little and hand made. The artist gave us tools to help us. It is made from paper, a stick, a magazine page, and a dictionary page. It was very fun to make.
First we cut all the paper into halves. Then we folded them into halves all together. We took a whole puncher and punched both of the sides. We strung a piece of string thru both sides. Then we got a stick and wrapped the string around the stick and tied it for the spine of it. I wanted to do something different with mine so I put a pocket in mine. Also, I put a map of made up places for fun. This was an easy activity to do and now I have a fun little journal to write in.
